   Ouvre une proposition qui s’oppose à la précédente. Il relie des propositions, jamais deux noms, et une virgule le précède : 我很累，但是很高兴. 可是 en est la variante plus légère, plus orale.

   Après 虽然, la seconde proposition conserve 但是 : le chinois énonce les deux membres du couple là où le français en supprime un.
