    La direction, et la moitié du monde que le chinois nomme 西方. Elle est déjà dans deux mots connus du débutant : 西瓜, le « melon d’Occident » venu par les routes commerciales, et 东西, « est-ouest », qui est la manière chinoise de dire « chose ».
