继续/繼續 jìxù — continuer, poursuivre

   continuer, poursuivre

   继 et 续 signifient tous deux, à peu près, reprendre là où une chose s’était arrêtée — un mot neutre pour la reprise, sans jugement sur la difficulté. Ce poids supplémentaire revient à 坚持, non à 继续.

Erreurs fréquentes

• Pas tout à fait他休息了一会儿，再工作了。

  Correct他休息了一会儿，继续工作了。

  再 annonce une répétition qui n’a pas encore commencé — « je le referai ». 继续 reprend une action interrompue. Reprendre le travail après une pause, c’est 继续, non 再.
