خذ 学 وأبدل الطفل 子 في أسفله بالعين على الساقين 见: فـ学 طفلٌ يُعلَّم، و觉 امرؤٌ صار يرى بنفسه. وله قراءتان شائعتان: 觉得 juéde أي يشعر أو يرى، و感觉 إحساس؛ و睡觉 shuìjiào أي ينام، وهو فعلٌ ومفعوله، ولذلك يقال «ينام ساعتين»: 睡两个小时的觉.
