   يحافظ على، يُبقي (حالةً)

   إبقاء حالٍ على ثباته: صمتٍ أو مسافةٍ أو عادةٍ أو رقمٍ قياسيّ. ومفعوله حالٌ لا شيءٌ مادّيّ، فتقول 保持 للهدوء وتقول 留 للمقعد.
