Where the shape comes from
A body bent forward at the waist, one arm curling round to embrace whatever it holds — the same folding gesture drawn small enough to sit as a shell around another element. An unborn child 巳 wrapped inside gives 包, to wrap, a bundle; a dot of contents held in its curve gives 勺, a ladle; and what it holds divided evenly gives 匀.
