Where the shape comes from

The left half of 行, which pictures a crossroads: three strokes of one arm of the junction. Standing at the left edge of a character it marks going, travelling and how a person conducts himself on the road: 很, 得, 往, 待, 律, and the 後 that simplified into 后.
