“即便……也……”
即便 is the written form of 即使. It concedes a supposition — often an extreme one — and the second clause, with 也, says the outcome stays the same. 也 follows the subject of its clause, and 但是 cannot replace it.

says: suppose this were the case — even then, the result would not change. ， “Even if it pours tomorrow, the match will go ahead as planned.” The first clause is usually hypothetical and often deliberately extreme, which is what gives the sentence its force.
The second clause takes (sometimes ), and is an adverb: it follows the subject. ， — not …. When the two clauses share a subject, it can appear once, either before or in the second clause.
The common error is to finish with . belongs to , which concedes a fact; concedes a supposition and needs . Compare ， (it did rain) with ， (it might).
is a little more formal than and much more formal than or , which carry the same meaning in speech. + adjective inside the first clause is a frequent companion: , “however hard, however busy”.
