Whatever the case: 无论/不管…都…
The first clause must stay open — a question word, an A-or-B choice, or 多 + adjective — and the second must carry 都 or 也. The outcome does not change either way.

, “Whatever the weather, I go running.” The frame says that a range of possibilities has been considered and none of them changes the outcome.
That is why the first clause cannot be a plain statement. It has to leave the option open, and Chinese has three standard ways of doing this. A question word used non-interrogatively: , “Wherever you go, I’ll go with you” — , , , , all work this way. An explicit choice with : ,. Or + adjective: , “However busy he is, he exercises for half an hour a day.” Writing breaks the frame, because settles the question instead of leaving it open.
The second clause must carry or , and — being adverbs — they follow the subject: , . Dropping is the most frequent error with this pattern; without it the sentence loses the “in every case” claim that is its whole point.
and mean the same thing; is the spoken word and the more formal, written one. is a third variant, also formal. All three take the same second clause.

错误 — 常见错误
These sentences are wrong. They are printed here on purpose, each one paired with the repair and the reason, because the error you can recognise is the error you stop making.
不太对
Incorrect sentence: 不管天气很好,我都去跑步。
正确
Correct sentence: 不管天气好不好,我都去跑步。
为什么: The first clause must stay open. 很好 answers the question instead of leaving it unsettled; use 好不好, 怎么样 or a question word.
不太对
Incorrect sentence: 不管你去哪儿,我跟你一起去。
正确
Correct sentence: 不管你去哪儿,我都跟你一起去。
为什么: 都 is what states that the outcome holds in every case. Without it, the second clause is just an unconnected promise.
不太对
Incorrect sentence: 不管天气怎么样,都我去跑步。
正确
Correct sentence: 不管天气怎么样,我都去跑步。
为什么: 都 is an adverb and follows the subject. Putting it first is the same mistake as fronting 就 or 也.
对比
Most errors with this pattern are not errors about this pattern — they are a neighbouring pattern arriving at the wrong moment. Read these side by side.
Both frames concede something, but they concede different amounts. 虽然…但是… grants one specific fact and then pushes back against it: 虽然很忙,但是他每天都锻炼 “He’s busy, but he still exercises daily.” 不管…都… grants *every* possibility at once and says the result is unaffected by any of them: 不管多忙,他每天都锻炼. The tell is in the first clause. If you can name the concession, use 虽然; if you are waving a whole range of cases aside, use 不管 or 无论 — and remember that the second clause then needs 都, not 但是.
