Where the shape comes from
A person 大 drawn with the ground line under the feet: someone planted upright on a spot rather than moving across it. From standing come founding and setting up — 成立, 建立 — and the radical marks position and bearing: 站 to stand and a station, 亲, 童, 端. It is also the top of 音 and of 意.
