义项
事情发展到最后得到的情况
结, to bear fruit, and 果, the fruit itself — the outcome as what a matter finally ripens into, good or bad. It waits for a process to finish: 考试的结果, the result of the exam, not the exam itself.
noun用在后一句开头,说明前面的事情最后带来的情况
conjunctionOpening the second clause, 结果 reports what finally happened after the first clause’s cause or effort — and very often what happened was not what was hoped for: 他复习了很久,结果还是没考好, he studied for ages, and in the end still did badly.

正确他复习了很长时间,结果考试考得很好。
As a connector, 结果 introduces the outcome and so belongs in the second clause, after the cause has already been given — never opening the sentence before any reason exists for it to conclude.
