Sections
3 sections, 26 questions, 30 minutes of section time.
Eight recordings, most of them short exchanges between two speakers. In this practice section each recording plays twice and cannot be paused or rewound. The answer is usually not a word you hear but a conclusion you draw, so keep track of who says what.
Audio rules for this section
Ten items: gap filling, short texts and notices, matching and sentence building. The passages now carry information you have to weigh against each other, and several wrong options are lifted word for word from the text — being present is not the same as being the answer.
Eight items on the structures that do the work at this level: the 把 sentence, the 得 complement and its negation, paired connectors, the negative comparison, 要 … 了 for what is about to happen, and 能 for what circumstances allow. Each wrong answer maps to one grammar lesson in your study plan.

Before you start
The timer runs on the server, so refreshing will not give you extra time. Listening audio plays a fixed number of times, as set for this practice paper.
