Where the shape comes from
A plot of ground seen from above and quartered by the paths and channels that cross it. Everything filed under it has to do with worked land or with a plot laid out in squares: 男 the strength at work in the field, 界 a boundary, 留 to stay on the land. The simplified 电 is filed here too, though its square is a thundercloud rather than a field.
