The sentences to repeat now run to two clauses (今天是星期六，我不用上课), so you have to hold a phrase in your head rather than echo a few syllables; and the questions ask for a reason or a description — why you like a dish, how you travelled here, tell us about your family — instead of a single fact. You will hear five sentences. In this practice section each one plays once; repeat it as closely as you can, keeping the tones and the pauses. Say the whole sentence even if one syllable escapes you — an unfinished repetition costs more than a slightly wrong tone.

Five everyday questions. Answer each one aloud with a full sentence — two if you can — reusing the words of the question. A single word is understandable but counts as an incomplete answer in this practice; the model answers show the length to aim for.
