HSK 6 full practice paper 1

A full-length classic HSK 6 paper with the official shape: 101 questions in 140 minutes across listening (50), reading (50) and writing (1). The writing task is a 400-character condensation marked against a rubric. It is original practice material written for Hanlu, not an official or past paper.

Starting a paper needs an account, so the timer, autosave and your gap report can be stored against you. Create account · Log in The first section is included on the free plan.

Unofficial practice material

This is unofficial practice material written for HSK Guide. It is not a past paper and is not endorsed by any examination authority. The section lengths, the timings and the scoring below are HSK Guide’s own practice settings, chosen so that a wrong answer points at one identifiable skill. They do not describe any examination authority’s rules — confirm those with your test centre.

Sections

3 sections, 101 questions, 130 minutes of section time.

    Listening35 minutes50 questions50 total score

Fifty questions in three parts. Part 1 (1–15): choose the statement that agrees with a short passage. Part 2 (16–30): three interviews, five questions each. Part 3 (31–50): longer passages, each followed by three or four questions. Each recording plays once.

Fifty questions in four parts. Part 1 (51–60): choose the one sentence that contains an error. Part 2 (61–70): choose the set of words that fills every gap in a passage. Part 3 (71–80): insert sentences A–E into two passages. Part 4 (81–100): read five passages and answer four questions on each.

  3. Writing

    Writing45 minutes1 question1 total score

One task (101). Read a story of about 1,000 characters for ten minutes, without taking notes, then condense it into about 400 characters in 35 minutes, under a title of your own. In a timed attempt the story is withdrawn after ten minutes, as on the real paper, and the answer box opens then; you may put it away sooner. When studying untimed it stays on screen. The task is marked against a rubric, not an answer key: after you submit, open rubric feedback from the report.

Questions, options and answers are not shown on this page — the paper is only meaningful if you meet it for the first time inside the timer.

Before you start

Timing, audio and how the run is protected

Timed

The timer runs on the server, so refreshing will not give you extra time. Listening audio plays a fixed number of times, as set for this practice paper.

Total: 140 minutes · section time adds up to 130 min.

Learning mode

No timer. Audio can be replayed freely and answers are explained immediately.

Audio

  • Listening: plays once · no seeking · no pausing

The play count and the seek and pause rules are stored on each section rather than hard-coded in the player, so an editor can change them without a deployment.

Saved

  • Answers autosave as you go — a refresh or a dropped connection loses nothing.
  • The deadline lives on the server, so the client clock is never trusted.
  • You can flag a question and come back to it while section time remains.

Your result

What you get when you submit

A score is the least useful part of a mock examination. The report is built to change what you study tomorrow.

By section

A score per section and per skill, so a listening problem cannot hide behind a good reading result.

Accuracy by question type

Accuracy broken down by question type — matching, cloze, ordering, true/false — because they fail for different reasons.

Vocabulary gaps

The exact words the wrong answers tested, taken from the diagnostic tags on each question.

Grammar gaps

The patterns behind the wrong answers, each linking straight to its grammar lesson.

Time per question

Where you stalled. A slow correct answer is a different problem from a fast wrong one.
